Kitakyushu

Kitakyushu

A younger settlement within the Japanese Empire and aptly named for its position in the northernmost point of Kyushu along the Kanmon Straits, Kitakyushu is among the family of newest metropolitan settlements within Japan.

First tracing its origins from the young Meiji government crawling out of the Japanese feudal era, Kitakyushu may be described as born from the fires of the Greater East Asian War from the fruits of Japan's stunning victory as the young but undisputed master, or perhaps more appropriately 'elder brother' of Pan-Asianism.

A young yet budding city within Japan's core empire, the city boasts the fruits of Japan's economic efforts and the forefront of development, primarily with the development of a steel industry and a site of computing research.
